Amaranth with Kernel Corn & Carrot Clear Soup

In Indonesia, the word bayam commonly refers to Amaranth. Even it translated as spinach in English.

Bahan-bahannya:
2 siung bawang putih, iris
4 butir bawang merah, iris
1 lembar daun salam
1 ikat bayam, pilih daunnya
1 buah wortel, potong dadu
1 buah jagung manis, sisir
500 mililiter air
Setengah sendok teh garam
Setengah sendok teh lada putih, haluskan
Setengah sendok teh gula pasir

Cara membuatnya:
1. Didihkan air.
2. Tambahkan bawang putih, bawang merah dan daun salam.
3. Tambahkan wortel dan jagung, tunggu mendidih lagi.
4. Tambahkan daun bayam, garam, lada putih, dan gula pasir. Aduk rata. Tunggu mendidih lagi.
5. Angkat. Sajikan.

The ingredients:
2 cloves garlic, chopped
4 pieces shallot, chopped
1 piece daun salam (Indonesian bay leaf)
1 bouquet amaranth, pick the leaves
1 carrot, diced
1 sweet corn, kerneled
500 milliliters water
A half tea spoon salt
A half tea spoon white pepper, ground
A half tea spoon sugar

The directions:
1. Boil water.
2. Add garlic, shallot and daun salam.
3. Add carrot and corn. Re-boil.
4. Add amaranth leaves, salt, white pepper, and sugar. Stir well. Re-boil.
5. Take out from the heat. Serve.
