Dine Out Mom 7: Pecel Madiun

Pecel secara umum adalah sayuran rebus yang disajikan dengan saus kacang. Namun, setiap daerah ternyata punya ciri khas masing-masing. Kali ini, aku berkesempatan makan pecel khas Madiun di sebuah warung yang terletak tak jauh dari SMKN 1 Depok, Sleman.

Generally, pecel is a sort of vegetable salad with spicy peanut sauce. But I found that each region in Indonesia has their own character of pecel. Today, I got a chance to enjoy some Madiun style pecel, located near SMKN 1 Depok, Sleman, Indonesia.

Isinya kacang panjang, daun kenikir, bunga turi, taoge, bayam, oseng tempe, serundeng, ketimun dan daun kemangi. Disajikan dengan rempeyek dan nasi pulen. Satu porsi nasi pecel tanpa tambahan lauk dihargai 7.000 rupiah. Tersedia macam-macam lauk tambahan, seperti empal, telur mata sapi, tempe goreng, atau telur asin.

Consists of boiled vegetables; long bean, kenikir leaves, turi flowers, a sort of spinach, mung bean sprouts, cooked tempeh, serundeng, also raw cucumber cubes and lemon basil leaves. Served with rempeyek and steamed white rice. A portion of pecel with steamed white rice costs IDR 7.000. Additional dishes are available at various costs; empal, sunny egg, fried tempeh or salted duck egg.
