Hot & Tangy Squid Soup

Kemarin, aku membuat sup cumi asam pedas. Saat pernafasan terasa kurang nyaman akibat alergi kumat, menyeruput makanan berkuah pedas memang menyegarkan.

Yesterday, I cooked tangy & hot squid soup. I was a little uncomfortable breathing because of alergy. So, it just made me feeling better.

Bahan-bahannya:
2 ekor cumi-cumi ukuran sedang, iris
400 mililiter air
2 butir bawang putih, haluskan
4 butir bawang merah, haluskan
4 buah cabe merah, haluskan
2 sentimeter jahe, iris
2 lembar daun jeruk purut
1 lembar daun salam
1 batang serai
setengah jeruk nipis, ambil airnya
1 buah wortel, potong dadu
kuntum brokoli, iris
sejumput garam
sejumput lada putih bubuk
sejumput gula pasir
1 sendok makan minyak goreng
1 batang daun bawang, iris
1 batang seledri, iris

Cara membuatnya:
1. Panaskan minyak goreng dengan api sedang.
2. Tumis bawang putih, bawang merah, cabe merah, jahe, daun salam, daun jeruk purut dan serai hingga harum.
3. Tambahkan cumi-cumi. Aduk rata. Diamkan 1 atau 2 menit.
4. Tambahkan air. Tunggu mendidih.
5. Tambahkan wortel, brokoli, daun bawang dan seledri, serta garam, lada putih bubuk, gula pasir dan air jeruk nipis. Aduk rata. Tutup, tunggu 2 menit. Angkat. Sajikan.

The ingredients:
2 medium sized squid, sliced
400 milliliters water
2 pieces garlic, crushed
4 pieces shallot, crushed
4 pieces red chili pepper, crushed
2 centimeters ginger, sliced
2 pieces kaffir lime leaf
a piece of salam leaf
a stalk lemon grass
a half lime, squeezed
a piece of carrot, diced
broccoli florets, sliced into bite sizes
a pinch of salt
a pinch of white pepper powder
a pinch of sugar cane
a table spoon oil
a stalk spring onion, chopped
a stalk celery, chopped

The directions:
1. Medium-low heat oil.
2. Sauté garlic, shallot, red chili pepper, ginger, salam leaf, kaffir lime leaf and lemon grass until the aroma comes out.
3. Add squid. Stir well. Wait for a minute or two.
4. Add water. Bring to boil.
5. Add carrot, broccoli, spring onion and celery, also salt, white pepper powder, sugar cane and lime squeeze. Stir well. Cover and wait for 2 minutes. Remove. Serve.
