Snacking Ice Cream

Hari Rabu lalu, aku mengunjungi pedagang hasil kebun di dekat rumah kami. Biasanya, aku beli singkong di sana. Tapi kali ini, aku tergoda oleh pisang kepok yang dipajang. Cakep banget! Tanpa perlu ditawar, si Bapak pedagangnya langsung nembak dengan harga murah. Dalam sekejap, aku tampak berjalan pulang dengan riang gembira sambil menenteng pisang.

Last Wednesday, I visited a farmer’s stall near our home. Usually, I buy some cassava, but I was tempted to bananas displayed on the stall. They looked beautifully delicious! And I don’t need bargaining, the kind old farmer just sells them in a very affordable price. I looked happy, walking back home with those gorgeous bananas.

Sepertiku, suamiku tercinta juga senang mengudap pisang goreng.

Bahan-bahannya:
3 buah pisang kepok, kupas kulitnya, iris menjadi 3 atau 4 bagian
2 sendok makan tepung terigu
1 sendok makan tepung beras putih
seperempat sendok teh vanili bubuk
setengah sendok teh garam
seperempat sendok teh kayu manis bubuk
10 mililiter air dingin
100 mililiter minyak goreng

Cara membuatnya:
1. Campurkan tepung terigu, tepung beras, vanili bubuk, garam dan kayu manis bubuk.
2. Tambahkan air dingin. Aduk rata.
3. Panaskan minyak goreng dengan api sedang.
4. Celupkan potongan-potongan pisang ke campuran tepung, lalu goreng hingga kecoklatan. Angkat. Tiriskan. Sajikan.

Just like me, my beloved hubby loves snacking banana fritter as well.

The inggredients:
3 pieces banana, peeled, sliced into 3 or 4 bite sizes
2 table spoons wheat flour
a table spoons white rice flour
a quarter tea spoon vanilla powder
a half tea spoon salt
a quarter tea spoon cinnamon powder
10 milliliters iced water
100 milliliters oil

The directions:
1. Mix well wheat flour, white rice flour, vanilla powder, salt and cinnamon powder.
2. Add iced water. Stir well.
3. Medium-low heat oil.
4. Dip banana slices into flour mix, then deep fry them until they turn golden brown. Remove. Strain. Serve.

Kami membuat campuran tepung yang banyak, lalu menyimpannya di toples. Jadi, kapanpun kami ingin membuat pisang goreng, kami tinggal mengambilnya beberapa sendok, lalu mencampurnya dengan air dingin. Tidak hanya untuk pisang goreng, bisa juga untuk membuat apel goreng, ubi goreng atau kudapan manis lainnya.

We prepared a lot of flour mix and stored them in a canister. So, whenever we want to cook banana fritter, all we need to do is simply take a couple of spoons of them, then adding some iced water. Not only for banana fritter, also fried apple, fried sweet potato, and other sweet snacks.

Untuk sensasi rasa yang tidak biasa, sajikan pisang goreng yang sudah dingin bersama es krim. Favoritku adalah pisang goreng dengan es krim coklat.

For an unusual taste sensation, serve cool banana fritter with a scoop or two ice cream. My own favourite is banana fritter served with chocolate ice cream.

Ngomong-ngomong soal es krim, beberapa hari sebelumnya, aku sempat menikmati es krim bluberi bersama potongan pisang ambon dan potongan mangga indramayu. Sensasi rasa menyegarkan adalah yang kudapatkan dari perpaduan tersebut. Nikmat disajikan setelah makan siang.

Speaking of ice cream, a couple of days before, I got a wonderful chance to enjoy blueberry ice cream with slices of banana and slices of mango. A refreshing taste is what I got from that beautiful mixture. Irresistable as dessert after lunch.
