Food is My Middle Name

Dulu, aku bukan orang yang suka makan, apalagi masak. Tapi pekerjaanku di pemasok bahan makanan dan minuman telah menumbuhkan kecintaanku terhadap dunia kuliner. Karena itu, sekarang teman-temanku mengidentikkanku dengan makanan.

I don’t like to eat, nor cooking. But my work at a food and beverage supplier has grown my passion for culinary world. That’s why, today, my beloved friends identify me with food.

Nasi Goreng Jamur & Dilmah Ginger.

Ayam Goreng Yogurt & Lalapan, Sambel Terasi

Bahan-bahannya:
setengah ekor ayam, dipotong-potong lalu direbus dengan 2 gelas air hingga empuk, tiriskan – gunakan kaldunya untuk masakan lain atau bekukan
2 sendok makan yogurt tawar
2 sendok makan tepung terigu
2 sendok makan tepung beras
sejumput garam
sejumput lada putih bubuk
sejumput gula pasir
200 mililiter minyak goreng

Cara membuatnya:
1. Lumuri daging ayam dengan yogurt. Simpan selama sekurangnya 30 menit dalam chiller.
2. Campurkan tepung terigu, tepung beras, garam, lada putih bubuk dan gula pasir.
3. Gulingkan daging ayam di tepung hingga terselubung tepung seluruhnya.
4. Panaskan minyak goreng dengan api sedang. Goreng ayam hingga kecoklatan. Angkat. Tiriskan.

The ingredients:
a half chicken, cut into portions, boil in 2 cups of water until tender, strain – use the chicken stock for other dish or freeze it
2 table spoons plain yoghurt
2 table spoons wheat flour
2 table spoons white rice flour
a pinch of salt
a pinch of white pepper powder
a pinch of sugar
200 mililiters oil

The directions:
1. Dip chicken in the plain yoghurt. Store in chiller for at least 30 minutes.
2. Mix well wheat flour, white rice flour, salt, white pepper powder and sugar.
3. Roll over chicken on the flour mix until the surface is completely covered by flour.
4. Medium-low heat oil. Deep fry chicken until it turns golden brown. Remove. Strain.

Mango Lassi

Bahan-bahannya:
1 buah mangga yang agak matang, kupas, potong-potong
2 sendok makan yogurt tawar
100 mililiter susu tawar

Cara membuatnya:
1. Campur semua bahan menggunakan blender hingga halus.
2. Tuangkan ke gelas. Sajikan.

The ingredients:
a piece of mango, peeled, cut
2 table spoons plain yoghurt
100 milliliters plain milk

The directions:
1. Mix all the ingredients using blender.
2. Pour into a tall glass. Serve.
