Culinary Team Reunited

Sebelum menikah, aku punya tim kuliner, yaitu teman-teman yang sama-sama suka makan di luar, terutama yang harganya tidak mahal tapi tempatnya nyaman dan makanannya cukup enak. Untungnya, Yogyakarta punya banyak tempat yang memenuhi kriteria tersebut.

Before I get married, I had a culinary team. It’s a group of my beloved friends who like to dine out, especially on cozy places with enjoyable foods and affordable price. Luckily, Yogyakarta has places that match those conditions.

Lucia Berta, lulusan psikologi yang ceria, dengan kegemarannya terhadap kerajinan tangan dan barang-barang jadul.

Dua orang tersebut adalah yang paling setia menemaniku makan di luar. Yang lain, kadang-kadang ikut meramaikan acara makan-makan kami.

They are 2 friends who stick with me. But sometimes, other friends joined too.

Kali ini, kami mencoba Purnatva. Warung vegan yang terletak di Condong Catur, Sleman. Menu yang disediakan dihargai mulai 8.000 rupiah hingga 60.000 rupiah.

This Saturday, we tried Purnatva. It’s a vegan stall located in Condong Catur, Sleman, Indonesia. They serve meals in the range from IDR 8,000 to IDR 60,000.

Dumpling

Semacam siomay isi sayuran, disajikan dengan saus kecap asin beraroma jahe.

A sort of vegetable dumpling, served with salted soy sauce with a hint of ginger.

Veggie Tempura

Brokoli, wortel, kentang, dan jamur tiram digoreng tepung, disajikan dengan saus seperti soyu. Tepungnya asin, sausnya pun asin. Wortel dan brokolinya tampak seperti terlalu lama dimasak. Dan baru kali ini aku menemukan crinkle cut french fries digoreng tepung.

Broccoli, carrot, potato, and oyster mushroom covered with flour then deep fried, served with a sort of sauce ressemble to soyu. The tempura flour was very salty, and so was the sauce. The broccoli and carrot seem overcooked, not interesting. And I never found crinkle cut french fries deep fried with flour.

Baby Corn Soup

Kata Berta, di menu ada keterangan bahwa makanan seharga 9.500 rupiah ini adalah sup krim. Tapi, aku tak melihat krim. Isinya jagung pipil dan kembang tahu. Kupikir, bukannya baby corn itu jagung muda? Saat menyeruputnya, aku teringat wedang ronde atau sekoteng. Mungkin ada jahenya.

Berta said that the menu tells that this dish priced IDR 9,500 is cream soup. But I can’t see the cream. Consists of kernel corn and beancurd. I thought baby corn is baby corn? I remember wedang ronde or sekoteng when sipping it. Maybe they use ginger.

Eggdrop Wonton Soup

Sup kental berisi kembang tahu dan wortel serta pangsit goreng. Rasanya persis dengan Baby Corn Soup tadi.

Sort of thick soup, consists of beancurd and carrot, also fried wonton. Tastes and smells just like Baby Corn Soup.

Vegan Satay Kebab

Sate kebab yang berisi buah nanas, fake meat dan brokoli dengan saus kecap yang sangat manis. Tidak terlalu menarik.

Pineapple slices, fake meats and paprika slices with sweet soy sauce that was too sweet. Not interesting.

Vegan Beef Sesame

Daging sapi vegan dimasak seperti teriyaki, dengan potongan wortel dan taburan wijen. Aku nggak suka fake meat, jadi buatku rasanya biasa banget. Tapi soal bumbunya, lumayan lah.

I don’t like fake meat. So, nothing special that I can tell. But the spices composition was not bad.
